Forman Christian College (A Chartered University) is the only university in Pakistan that became a part of thirty-one international universities, from UK, USA, Netherlands, New Zealand, Australia, Ireland, China and Canada in developing online courses. The sole purpose of these online courses is to promote pedagogical and academic leadership skills of the higher education staff. The courses were developed by a renowned firm, Epigeum that specializes in developing online courses. Epigeum also offers many online courses on their website that can be accessed with a charge.

Centre of Learning and Teaching at Forman Christian College (A Chartered University) utilizes these online academic courses as a blended mode of learning for the professional development of the faculty.

Modules Offered
How does it work?

Read the description provided in the catalogue and select the Course of your choice. Since a course has to be completed within one month, it is strongly advised that you register for only one course in one month.

In order to register for the selected course, email your intent with the name of the course to CLT at registration requests will be entertained from the 20th – 25th of every month, for the courses starting in the subsequent month. A course will commence only, if there are 4 or more registered Participants.

All the course material is online and each course takes 2-3 hours to complete. You can complete the course at your own pace within the given time period (i.e. 3 weeks). Each course contains videos, reading materials and interactive Activities. These include guest appearances from some well-known experts and academia.

After completing the online course, participants will meet at CLT for agroup discussion and/or quiz, during last week of the month. The group will reflect on their learning from the course and share their experiences.

On successful completion of the course and the face to face discussion Session at CLT, participants will be awarded certificates.

For example,

  1. If someone wants to take a course in April 2014, they should send their request during 20th – 25th March 2014.
  2. The participant will have to complete the course during the first three weeks of April 2014.
  3. During the last week of April, face to face discussion session will be held at CLT.

Once you receive your login information from CLT (Username and Password), you can go to the course catalog and access the desired course using the login information.

The course consists of a series of interactive exercises. At the end of the course there will be a face to face discussion session held at CLT. Thus it uses a blended learning approach.

To earn your certificate you need to complete the online content, face to face discussion session and/or a quiz. The face to face discussion session at CLT is mandatory for FCCU participants.

There is no need to install special software. You will need a recent version of Adobe Flash player and a JavaScript enabled browser.
