Description:

Rubrics enhance student learning by making them accountable for their own learning and offer consistency in evaluating students' work. Rubrics take away the guesswork from grading and ensure assessment is fair and transparent. This session will focus on how to develop: i) criteria of performance ii) and a rating scale to define the level of students' mastery

You may bring along your assignment and grading criteria or the rubric, if already developed, to the session for clarity and discussion.

Description:

Your teaching philosophy is a self-reflective statement of your beliefs about teaching and learning. It is a brief narrative that conveys your core ideas in the context of your discipline and is the foundation to how you perform as an instructor

In this workshop, you explore/develop your philosophy of teaching to justify your teaching style, teaching-learning strategies, syllabus, lesson plans, assignments, and class activities. It will help you develop these ideas with specific, concrete examples of what will happen in the classroom to achieve your goals.
